This beacon is almost roadside about 8km north-east of Piet Retief. The beacon is not visible from the road, but it's a short and easy 130m walk up a small hill to get there.

This is a rare beacon construction being a square concrete block about 1m high, tapering from bottom to top.
We believe that this type is the predecessor to the standard beacons that are mostly found nowdays.

Ideally, you should try to take photos at the actual beacon location, but if that isn't possible (private property, terrain, etc), then photos taken from a distance are also welcome, especially if the beacon is visible in the photo.
