Greeting to the Sun in Zadar is another arcitectual artwork of the arcitect Nicola Basic. It's just a few meters from the Sea Organ build by the same artist.
The Object "Greeting to the sun" is a big round solarfield which is illuminated in the evening with the energy fetched during the daytime. The installation was build in 2008 and is about 22 meters in diameter.
Zadar is very famous for it's beautiful sunset. Alfred Hitchcock shall have called it "... the most beautiful sunset in the world"! Every evening during summertime hundreds of people walk to this place to watch the sunset, listen to the nearby Sea Organ and watch this "Greeting to the Sun".
With the beginning of the sunset the solarobject begins to illuminate in various colors and designs. The "Greeting to the Sun" shall be a symbolic communication with the sun.
Best viewing time is in the evening after sunset!
