Minnesota’s oldest social/service group, the Kitchi Gammi Club dates back to 1883. Its original 16 members were known as prominent and well respected leaders of Duluth. The Jacobean Revival style clubhouse which is used today was completed in 1914; it was designed by New York architect Bertram Goodhue in downtown Duluth with a clear view of Lake Superior. It has impressive features such as bay windows, high gables on the steep roofs, arched doorways and tall chimneys. It is considered an important landmark in the community and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975
