The final resting place of Nanna E. Cornwell is at the far southeast corner of Fairlawn Cemetery, just inside the entrance gate. Hers is a flat stone placed near a family marker with the name Cornwell.

Some worldwide events and accomplishments that occurred during Nanna's time on earth:

1868: Emperor Tewodros II of Ethiopia massacres at least 197 of his own people at Magdala. These are prisoners incarcerated, for the most part, for very trivial offenses, and are killed for requesting bread and water.
1878: In California, the poet and American West outlaw calling himself "Black Bart" makes his last clean getaway when he steals a safe box from a Wells Fargo stagecoach. The empty box is found later with a taunting poem inside.
1888: Annie Besant organizes the London matchgirls strike of 1888
1898: Annie Oakley promotes the service of women in combat situations with the United States military.
1908: At Ft. Myer, Virginia, U.S.A. Thomas Selfridge becomes the first person to die in an airplane crash. The pilot, Orville Wright, is severely injured in the crash but recovers.
1918: The small town of Codell, Kansas, is hit for the third year in a row on the same date by a tornado.
1928: Charles Lindbergh is presented the Medal of Honor for his first trans-Atlantic flight.
1938: László Bíró patents the ballpoint pen in Britain.
1948: Laurence Olivier's film version of Hamlet makes its world premiere in London.
1958: General Charles de Gaulle is elected president of France with 78.5% of the votes.
1968: Brazilian high school student Edson Luís de Lima Souto is shot by the police in a protest for cheaper meals at a restaurant for low-income students. The aftermath of his death was one of the first major events against the military dictatorship.
