This marker is mounted on a stone at the site of the Chippewa burial site on Wisconsin Point east of Superior. The inscription reads:

Here was the burial ground of
The Fond du Lac Band
of the Chippewa People
dating from the 17th century.
It was removed in 1918 to
St. Francis Cemetery Superior.

Numerous visitors have left their respects with feathers, coins, flags, tobacco, walking sticks and other meaningful items.
