ENGLISH
Shared grave at Sealand's Point in memory of the ship of the line Prince Christian FREDERIKS struggle and its finally at Sealand's Point 22nd March 1808 against two British ships of the line and three frigates

In September 1807, Denmark was attacked by England. This led to the bombardment of Copenhagen and the robbery of the Danish-Norwegian fleet.
The British assault forced Denmark into an alliance with Napoleon.

As the British robbed fleet, was the Danish line ship "Prince Christian Frederik" not at home, the ship with Commander Jessen, had been in battle at Norway, the ship had to replaced 200 men, due to illness, with 200 new poorly trained men.

The battle took place 300 meters from the current entrance to the port city.

Commander Jessen would now draw the British ships away from the beltby going north about. Jessen drew as well the two British ships after him, but his pilot panicked and he refused to sail in on Sejerø, so the maneuver was a bit difficult and he had to expose himself.

Gradually it occurred to Jessen, that there were several English ships, there was now yet another ship in addition to the two and from the northeast came the three larger ships. Jessen's plan was still going around the spit, and under cover of darkness to reach Kronborg, but the wind failed him. Around the time. 5.30 succeeds Jessen to get around Zealand Point and get east, but there was no wind, so it was not possible to avoid a fight. Jessen sailed close to land, in order to grounds the ship, if it went wrong. There were two frigates and a corvette. Three ships of the line, "Vanguard" with 84 guns, "Stanley" with 68 guns, and "Nassau" also with 68 guns, "Prince Christian Frederik" had only 68 guns.

While "Vanguard" remained eastern to stop the Danish warship if it were to try to sail from its enemies, attacked the five British ships now, more than 200 cannons against the Danish line ship 68 cannons and where approx. third of the crew was inexperienced people

Odden residents gathered in the days after the battle, they washed ashore bodies of the sailors, a total of 29, and buried them at Odden cemetery. In 1810 raised landowner Lorentz Friberg, Anneberg, the monument to the ship Prince Christian Frederik at the cemetery.

In 1883 establishes the Lieutenant company a granite stone as a memorial of the fallen.
