This well disguised clock is in the centre of the business district, presumably so bankers, brokers, barbers, beauticians, even butchers, bakers and candlestick makers in the neighbourhood can all know that it is, indeed, lunch time.

I noted above that this clock is (seemingly) well disguised, as we had driven and walked up and down Cedar Avenue dozens of times before we noticed it. This must certainly mean that the designer who desired that it blend into its surroundings and appear as though it genuinely belongs there has definitely accomplished his/her task. (Or that we're blissfully ignorant of our surroundings.)

The clock is in front of 1338 Cedar Avenue, in a little oasis where, in the summer, one can partake of the benches provided to sit down, relax a bit and smell the flowers, while noting that the clock is at least one minute off, according to their smart phone.

This appears to be an all-steel clock; a round clock face with Roman Numeral lettering in a round steel case, sitting atop a round, tapered and fluted steel column, the whole resting on a round, stepped concrete base. No square corners to be found here. The entirety, save for the base, is probably powder coated in a glossy black and stands about 8 or 9 feet tall, more like 10 or 12 feet if one considers the surveillance cameras above (Big Brothers of Trail, no doubt).

The clock has a south and a north facing face, upon each of which is inscribed what is apparently(as I see it on all the "Welcome to Trail" signs) Trail's motto: "Explore Your Trail-BC". The faces have highly reflective glass, which makes portraits especially difficult. The hands could be considered "arte nouveau", as they're simply elongated rectangles.

Right now we're under a foot of snow, but I've included one small pic to indicate that the clock and its surroundings appear much more inviting in the more temperate (read less disagreeable) months of the year.
