This Memorial commemorates the Canadian Forces (Navy, Army, Air Force and Ancillary Services), participation in the United Nations operations in Korea, 1950 - 1953. The memorial includes the names of 516 Canadians that were killed during the Korean War, six of these soldiers were from Windsor-Essex County area. The memorial was placed Nov. 28, 2008 and officially dedicated on May 30, 2009. This was the result of three years' untiring work by a committee that included 80 year old Henry Martinak of Windsor, who served in Korea with the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry from 1950 and 1952.
