Andy Belesky is a legend in Trail and throughout British Columbia.

He was a Trail native born in 1919, and started coaching little league teams in 1952 and continued to inspire young athletics until his death February 19, 2008.

Andy Bilesky Little League Park was opened in 1975 to honour his dedication to the youth of the area.

A little history about Andy Bilesky:

With an emphasis on discipline, hard work and sportsmanship, Andy Bilesky guided his Little League teams to twenty-eight district championships, eleven provincial titles and five Canadian championships.

Andy Bilesky's squads competed in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa., five times.

According to the Canadian Little League Association, Bilesky is the only coach to have piloted teams to the Little League World Series more than three times.

For his tireless efforts, Bilesky was selected coach of the year by B.C. Amateur Baseball twice: 1967 and 1976. He was inducted into the B.C. Sports Hall of Fame in 1994.
