The cairn is located at the edge of the forest on the top of Studený vrch in the Hrebeny ridge nearby Studeny vrch Look-out. The nearest village to the north is Malý Chlumec (approx. 2.5 km) and the closest town is Hostomice (approx. 6 km to the north-east).
The north-eastern part of the forest-covered Brdy Highlands is called Hrebeny. Studený vrch (660 m above sea level) is the highest peak of the Hrebeny. It is located to the south-east of the village of Hostomice and its name refers to prevalent cold winds.
