In Westwood's Islington Village, is the Westwood Fire Dept. Islington Station.

The Fire Station is located on Washington Street, at the southeast corner of the intersection with East Street. There is parking in a small lot at the baseball field on East Street.

The station is a simple building with a peaked roof. There are two garage doors, and wings on either side. The walls are white except for some brick on either side of the garage doors. Over the doors are the words:

"Westwood Fire Dept
Islington Station"

The fire department web site states that there are two fire stations; the main station is on Route 109 in the center of town. There is 30 people staffed town-wide. Since this is a smaller station, I estimated about a 2:1 ratio between them. The web site only mentioned that Engine 2 covered the area in station 2 (Islington). So, I only put one in the number of fire truck field. There is also an ambulance that is at the main station but covers the entire town.

The area covered by this station includes I-95/MA Route 128, MA Route 1A, and US Route 1, in addition to the village of Islington and the MBTA/Amtrak Railroad Station. The web site did not mention how many alarms the fire station answers.
