SOWARD Dewitt Talmage, 102, died December 20, 1992. Born May 10, 1890, near Ardmore, Indian Territory, the fourth of seven children born to a Baptist Minister, William West Soward and Sarah C. Hawkins Soward, all of whom preceded him in death, although his mother and his sister, Hattie both lived past 101 years. He was a dedicated Christian, Baptist Deacon, an avid musician and gardner. Until retirement, he was a water well drilling contractor in Blanchard, and previously a farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 70 years, Anna Maud Swanson; 2 daughters, Doris Mankin and Betty Wiedman; 1 son, Dale T. Soward. Survivors include 3 sons, Dewitt C., William (Bill), and Paul; 3 daughters, Jimmie Schuh, Ruth Moore, Anna Rose Wilkins; 23 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren. Services 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Blanchard.

Location of Headstone: Blanchard Cemetery, Hwy 76 north of Blanchard.
