This is a beautiful piece of art, dedicated to the farmer or countryside man (literally translating it would be "rural man").

This relief sculpture in bronze can be found in the center of the town of Torres Vedras, being a homage to the men who work on the fields placed by the City of Torres Vedras and the bank Caixa de Crédito Agrícola.
The author of the sculpture was Soares Branco, which was than placed in the vicinity of the local high school.
It shows three main characters, farm workers, with a rich background where more workers can be seen, as well as other elements related with the life and work on the countryside. Both the detail and the scale of the sculpture are quite impressive.
