Ellison Park sledding hill - Rochester, NY

There are two distinct sledding areas at Ellison Park. They are essentially side-by-side runs, but one is closer to the parking lot, with a gentler slope, and therefore better suited for the little tikes. This waymark is of the other hill!

This steeper hill is further south of the Ellison Park Landing Road parking lot. You have to walk uphill along the sidewalk (if you can find the sidewalk under the snow!) toward the waymarked plaque (Indian Landing, Penfield, NY: (
visit link) ). Both sledding areas have disk golf "holes" during the summer months (Ellison Park Disk Golf - Rochester, NY (
visit link) ), but they were cleared away before the snowfall.
This is in a county park, and the Parks and Recreation department actively support sledding here, by putting up an orange safety net around the trees that might be a hazard due to the pitch of the slope.
I can't promise the pics are very representative of the hill. We had a lot of great packing snow over the Christmas/New Year's break, but on this day, it was bitter cold, and only the heartiest sledders were out on the slope.
