Tell us about the area the post box is situated.:
Situated on The Street, the former Manor Hall dates from 1604. Restoration was carried out in 1899 with little regard for historical accuracy. It is now a thriving community centre with all manner of village activities. The full name of the village is Trowse with Newton, a meeting of the manors of Trowse and the much larger Newton. The current size and shape of the village has much to do with the Colman family. They owned a mustard mill on the nearby River Yare and built cottages in the village for their workers.
