Varatojo is like a suburb of the town of Torres Vedras. Most of it is modern so I believe it was built around the old monastery and grew to became a suburb of the nearby town.
Varatojo is located on a hill, and on the top there are a few windmills, which, anyway, are very common in this region.
The windmill in this waymark is completely embraced by new houses. It's not renovated, but it's not in ruins. Which is not so usual. So it keeps an old charm, it's just a natural windmill. Not working windmill though.
