This stone cenotaph was first dedicated to the men of Athabasca and District who fell in the Great War and later to those who died in World War II. It is located across from the Legion in Athabasca, Alberta.

The World War I plaque on the cenotaph reads:
"Lest We Forget"
In Memory of the Men of Athabasca and District Who Fell in the Great War,
1914 - 1918.
In addition there is another plaque dedicated to World War II combatants:

The cenotaph is centrally located across from the Royal Canadian Legion and other community facilities. Nearby the community pool, the 'old brick school' and Riverside Park are within walking disctance to anyone that wishes to visit this memorial. Although it is situated along the road a small grove of spruce trees adds to the importance of this location for the community.
