Each 240-volt Level 2 charging station can fully charge an electric vehicle in four to six hours, at no cost to Fishers residents.
These units are part of a two-year pilot program in which Duke Energy will own, operate, maintain and monitor them. At the end of the two years, Duke Energy will transfer ownership to the Town of Fishers.
Duke Energy wants to study the charging habits of plug-in electric vehicle drivers so that they can understand how the vehicles will integrate into the power grid.
