The black, round plaque contains the text:

Holy Trinity Halls
Holy Trinity Halls began life as
the Trinity National School
founded in 1836 by the Revd. Edward Blick.
It is also the site of two historic rope wells
which have now been restored.

The area was once used for ship building and repair and the wells would have been used to stretch ropes before they went onboard ship.
