The cornerstone is dated 1937. Though the cornerstone was laid in 1937, the building was completed in 1938.
Fidelity Lodge #32 was completed by contractors Moncrief and Vistaunet in 1938 with a capsule containing civic and Masonic documents hidden in one of the cornerstones.
Masonic Temples are classical in design and architect William Frederick Williams of Nelson stayed with this convention. On the second floor were meeting rooms, a banquet rooms, a regalia room, a Library and a kitchen. Offices occupied the front of the ground floor and radio station 10AT (later CJAT) occupied a studio at the rear of the building from 1938 to 1958. The front part of the building housed the Associate Medical Clinic for a number of years.
The Masons sold their building to Hall Printing in 1994. However, Fidelity Lodge #32 repurchased it in 2004 and continues to meet in the upper floor rooms.
