I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey from 1957 in good condition. The original wooden witness post as well as a metal witness post are located near the station. This benchmark also appears on a topography map as BM 652. the NGS datasheet description is adequate for benchmark recovery and my posted coordinates will put you very close to this station.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1957 2.8 MI NE FROM REDDING. 2.0 MILES NORTH ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 99 FROM THE CITY HALL AT REDDING, THENCE 0.8 MILE NORTHEAST ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 299 IN R4W T32N, IN THE TRACK ROAD LEADING NORTHWEST, ON THE TOP OF A NORTHWEST-SOUTHEAST RIDGE, 90 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 89 1/2 FEET (SLOPE MEASUREMENT) NORTHEAST OF THE NORTHWEST END OF CORRUGATED METAL PIPE CULVERT NO. A 124+51, 16 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE ROAD, 12 1/2 FEET SOUTHWEST OF TELEPHONE POLE 20 AND IN LINE WITH THE ROW OF POLES, 1.9 FEET NORTHEAST OF A WITNESS POST, ABOUT 9 FEET HIGHER THAN THE HIGHWAY, AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST PROJECTING 0.5 FOOT ABOVE THE GROUND.
