This standpipe (water tank) is easy to spot from a long distance and is located just off Hilltop Dr. The tank is now painted in a two-tone cream and brown color, otherwise the NGS datasheet description is adequate for station recovery.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1971 (WMJ) THE POINT INTERSECTED WAS THE TOP CENTER OF THE REDDING, HILLTOP DRIVE MUNICIPAL STANDPIPE THAT IS LOCATED NEAR THE NORTHEAST EDGE OF REDDING, 0.4 MILE WEST OF INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 5, JUST SOUTH OF HILLTOP DRIVE AND ON A HILL OVERLOOKING THE SACRAMENTO RIVER. THE STANDPIPE IS CYLINDRICAL IN SHAPE, 20 FEET IN DIAMETER AND 80 FEET IN HEIGHT. IT IS PAINTED LIGHT GREEN IN COLOR.
