This is indeed an amazing place, in the outskirts of the village of Azaruja, not far from Évora.

In this location one will find a decadent small palace, which belonged to the Count of Azaruja. The main building is apparently vacant, although there is people living the nearby support buildings. Across the street there is the former chapel, with a "1905" inscription, in worst shape than the main house.

This is the text of the marker:

"The Palace of the Conde da Azarujinha is a building of only one storey [strange, because it doesn't look like that], in front of which the ferias [a typo, should be "feiras"] francas (open fairs) take place. It was built in the 18th Century [again, strange, it really looks like an early 19th Century building and the inscription in the church shows "1905"] in simple neoclassical style. The church, also neoclassical in style, is later [sic] than the palace, having been built at the end of the 18th Century. Located close to the palace, it served as mortuary chapel, but is today unused."
