The guidebook mentions this place as:
"On the granite BARBARA FRITCHIE MONUMENT has been carved Whittier's poem describing her defiance of invading troops. Her body and that of her husband, John Caspar Fritchie, were removed from the old Episcopal Churchyard and brought here about 1914."
--- MARYLAND - A Guide to the Old State Line, 1940
The poem is cast in bronze, not carved, plaque mounted onto the granite monument. It is found in Mt. Olivet Cemetery (Waymark WMFVGR).
