From the travel guide, we read:
"A five-foot granite block designates the spot where Major General George Meade took command of the Army of the Potomac on June 28, 1863, three days before the Battle of Gettysburg. Meade's Army and the Army of the Northern Virginia under General Robert E. Lee followed approximately parallel routes through Maryland into Pennsylvania."
--- MARYLAND - A Guide to the Old State Line, 1940

The solid monument remains in place near Prospect Hall (Waymark WMFVZZ). It is interesting that the plaque was placed in 1930 by the Pennsylvania, not Maryland, historical commission. Parking is very limited.
