In Foxborough, behind the Bass Pro Shop of Patriot Place, is The Nature Trail and Cranberry Bog.
To get to the entrance, drive to the Bass Pro Shop at the south end of Patriot Place, then follow the brown signs for The Nature Trail and Cranberry Bog around the south end of the Bass Pro Shop to the end to the parking lot. From there, follow the sidewalk to the entrance.
The area is a 32 acre habitat that includes an open shallow wetland pond, three cranberry bog plots, and an area of woods. The path ties all of these together. While there ducks were floating on the pond. The web site states that wildlife that can be seen there included Great Blue Heron, swans, mallards, wood ducks, Canada geese, deer, foxes, raccoons, and turtles.
Patriot Place is the mall portion of the property owned by the New England Patriots. At the northern end is Gillette Stadium where they play. When the Patriots are at home, once in a while a camera will be placed there that shows people hiking around during the transitions. So, if you aren't at the game, you might try to get on television by hiking the bog!
