Florence Bates is laid to rest in Resurrection memorial Cemetery, a large, triangular-shaped Catholic cemetery in northwest Oklahoma City. This area has no fencing and lies along a busy highway.

Most of the headstones here are flat bronze plaques, and Florence Bates' marker is the same. There are leaves engraved in each corner of the plaque, and the bronze plate is anchored to a marble slab. Her inscription reads:

Florence M. Bates
1887 - 1988

* Coca-Cola was newly on the market when Florence was born.
* The Pledge of Alliance was first recited in public schools when Florence was five.
* The ice cream cone debuted when Florence was 17.
* She was twenty the year Oklahoma became a state.
* John T. Scopes was arrested for teaching evolution in a Tennessee school when Florence was 38.
* Florence was 65 the year of the first non-stop transpacific flight by a jet.
* She was 81 the year Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated.
* Florence passed away in 1988, the year of the first Mrs. American Beauty Pageant.
