The An-26 in general is a miltary cargo plane from USSR. The plane at the museum served in the former GDR as a government craft used by the former head of state, Erich Honecker, as his private plane including an office-compartment. A car could be transported as cargo. You can visit the plane inside and take a seat there where Honecker prepared his state visits!

Bei der An-26 handelt es sich prinzipiell um eine Militärtransportmaschine der ehemaligen Sowjetunion. Die Maschine im Museum gehörte allerdings der DDR und wurde vom Staatsoberhaupt Erich Honecker als Privatflugzeug benutzt. Im Inneren befindet sich sein Büroabteil. Im Ladebereich konnte ein Regierungsfahrzeug mitfliegen. Man kann das Flugzeug von Innen besichtigen und auf Honeckers Sesseln Platz nehmen!
