The propeller is located on the airfield side of the Picton Flying Club. The club has an ops/clubhouse and small hangar at the south end of the old RCAF Stn Picton air base.

The North Star was a Douglas C54 4-engine propeller driven cargo aircraft built under licence by Canadair. There were a total of 24 North Stars and 1 C5 (VIP North Star) delivered to the RCAF starting in 1948. It is believed there is only 1 example in existence; tail #17515 being restored at the Canadian Aviation Museum in Ottawa. For a fascinating article on this aircraft go to this link:
