Monitoring weather conditions at the Castlegar Airport, this station monitors (at least) the following: air temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, wind gust velocity, freezup, precipitation, rate of precipitation, cloud ceiling, snow depth and sunshine hours. It uses a satellite uplink.
As to the nature of the instruments employed this is all that is known:
Sunshine - uses Campbell Stokes type of instrument.
Snow - uses Nipher gauge.
Ceilometer - uses Laser Ceilometer.
