Oatman is a resurrected mining ghost town that is called "The Town That Refused to Die". The town is probably best known for the wild burros that come down out of the hills to cadge treats from the tourists as soon as the first gunfight in Main Street signals the presence of likely suckers.

The Olive Oatman Restaurant and Saloon is named for a young girl who was captured by a local Indian tribe and held captive for several years in the middle 1800s. The food is mostly tourist fare that is supposed to be representative of the town's heritage.
