From the
Maryland Historical Trust, we learn that the Flemish bond brick house once served as an orphanage starting in 1879. The east end has a small office as constructed in 1820 for the original homeowner, Dr. John Baltzell. It now serves as the local historical society headquarters. Inside tours are available for $3-6 fee.
