In the center of the Fairview Cemetery stands this US Civil War figure, ready at his post in the quiet of encircling grave stones. It appears to have been erected in 1890 by a local veterans' post. (See the inscription in the differences field below.)

The piece is in excellent shape as it was constructed out of granite.
