This obelisk commemorates both WW1 and two local men who lost their lives in the South African Campaign 1899-1902 as well as the declaration of peace in 1902. There is a plaque close by to also to give thanks to those from the area who gave their lives in later conflicts.

The memorial was restored in 2000 by the parish council.
