Here are two shots of downtown Trail, BC, taken on the corner of Cedar Ave. and Spokane St. We are looking north up Cedar Ave., toward Eldorado Street. In the background the Teck Cominco Smelter can be seen, on top of Smelter Hill. The original pic was taken in the very early fifties, judging by the cars on the street.
The major changes that can be seen are mostly cosmetic. The overhead lines are gone, the trees are bigger, most of the buildings are still there, wearing different dress, and the smelter has undergone major upgrading.
