This museum was developed with in intent to be an interactive living history museum; this means that visitors interact with the actors that are in period costume, to experience live along the Oregon Trail, including what it was like around the campfire, or to buy provisions at a gun shop and merchantile store. Visitors can "ride" in a computer-simulated covered wagon. There is a large room full of paintings, lots of pioneer artifacts, plays, even a restaurant where the booths resemble covered wagons. A section of the museum offers exhibits on the railroad thru Bear Lake Valley, and includes more artifacts. Check out their website, it is great, and has links to other great wagson trail websites!
