An interesting set of figurative public sculptures in a park in Silves

This intriguing and definitely very interesting set of figurative public sculptures do not have any kind of sign on the spot. Unfortunately it was not possible to gather info about the sculptures online. So they remain a full mystery. No author, no name, no explanation.
They were placed on plinths in the middle of an artificial pond and they are about real life size. Near the bond there is a board dedicated to an Arab ruler and poet who was born in Silves during Muslim occupation. Perhaps the statues are about that, the parallel lives of Christian and Muslim communities. Esthetically, they could be precisely that.
