The larger than lifesize Stainless Steel sculpture of a figure called 'Man of Steel' has been created by artist Sebastian Boyesen.
There are some internet references to the sculpture being called 'Steelworker'

Steel is the predominant industry associated with the Port Talbot area today.

The public sculpture consists of a male, Steelworker carrying huge bars of steel.

The sculpture is located on a small green between the Police Station and the Railway Station, in Port Talbot.

"The sculpture is dedicated to the generations of steelworkers of the area. The Abbey Steelworks, completed in 1952, was for a time the largest employer in Wales, with 18,000 workers." Text Source: (visit link)

"It is worth visiting the large industrial town of Port Talbot if only to see the many statues dotted about the town which are proud reminders of its industrial past and present. One of the statues, called, This Mortal Coil and crafted by sculptor, Sebastian Boyes, depicts a steel worker inside a mill wheel, another, Man of Steel, shows a larger than life steelworker carrying huge bars of metal. It stands at an entry to the town centre." Text Source: (visit link)
