The Montréal Biodôme, which is located at 4777, avenue Pierre-De Coubertin, Montréal, Quebec, H1V 1B3, opened in 1992. The Biodome is a unique museum because it maintains five distinct ecosystems inlcuding Sub-antarctic Islands allowing visitors to learn about the landscape, climate and fauna. Four species of Spheniscidae all of which have been able to reproduce in the biodome can be seen including Aptenodytes patagonica or king penguins.
The Biodome also contains a Scientific Research Division where research is conducted by in-house, academic and institutional scientists and students.
