Dr. Antonin Becvar Observatory is located in the castle Hnevín above the town Most, is a branch of the Observatory in Teplice. The observatory Most was opened on 24 October 1970 and was named after the famous Czech astronomer Dr. Antonin Becvar, a world renowned author of astronomical atlases stars. Dr. Antonin Becvar was the founder and first director of the observatory at Skalnaté pleso in the Vysoké Tatry (

The equipment of observatory:
The observatory dome is a powerful refractor type Gustav Heyde, which allows zoom to 300x observed objects. There is also other photographic equipment. Available H-alpha filter for viewing by the public is a unique service. Observatory on Hnevín cooperates with planetarium in Most.
