The First Bank of Tomah built a newer and larger building at 1021 Superior Avenue about 2 doors south of the old building. The building was purchased, refurbished and converted to a tavern. The vault is still in the building.
The vault is encased in concrete from the basement floor through the second floor to the roof of the building. The only exception is the door to the vault. The markings on the door say that the vault was made in Cincinnati by the Mosler Brothers -- M., William, and Julius in 1860.
