Nashua’s Mine Falls Park is a 325 acre park in Nashua, New Hampshire. It is very wooded and peacefull, with the Nashua River, a canal and a millpond plus many trails and wildlife. The park is also home to the geocache GC9E NH #1-Mines Follies, the oldest cache in the state.
While we were hunting for the geocache, we spotted this benchmark and took the coordinates. We searched the Benchmarking website from geocaching.com but found no record of it. It appears to be a Public Land Survey Mark.
Type of survey mark: Concrete pillar with metal stake.
What indicators are near the mark to help people identify where it is located?:
This is a wooded area. Look for the rock pillar, because it feels out of place in the woods. The rock pillar is about 18 inches tall.
What property is this mark defining?:
This marker appears to mark the boundary between the park and the nearby school.
