A great place to take the kids, Grover Hotsprings is operated by the Department of State Parks of California. The hotsprings emerges from the ground just above the swimming area and is fed into two pools (one comfortable temperature and one hot). Very clean and well maintained and safe for children. Lifeguards are on duty at all times when the pool is open. There is an admission fee and they have some extended hours on weekends during the summer. Open year round.

Nearby campground is very nice as well. The nearby town of Markleeville has stores, restaurants, and hotels (no gas that I could see though).
