Courthouse Benchmark (CN0340) - Montgomery, Alabama - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

The benchmark is located on the steps on the Lee Street side of the building, by the corner with Church Street. The 1967 descriptions calls it the Post Office Building, but later it was converted to use as a federal building and U.S. Courthouse. There are three steps on the left side as you face the building. The benchmark is at the left side of the bottom step.

There are several waymarks and geocaches in the area for those who want to spend some time visiting.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1967 IN MONTGOMERY. AT MONTGOMERY, AT THE POST OFFICE BUILDING, AT THE INTERSECTION OF LEE AND COURT STREET, ABOUT 0.45 MILE SOUTHEAST ALONG LEE STREET FROM THE UNION STATION, AT THE EAST CORNER OF THE PLATFORM AT THE NORTHEAST ENTRANCE TO THE POST OFFICE BUILDING, SET ON THE TOP OF THE SOUTHEAST END OF THE 2ND STEP FROM THE TOP AND 1/2 FOOT ABOVE THE LEVEL OF THE SIDEWALK.
