The first picture shows the ladder used to lift the bowling ball to the top of the track. (He used to have a mechanical lift, which broke, but he hasn't yet replaced it.) The second photo shows the track above his fence, and a metal bell that clangs after the bowling ball passes. This is sculpture appeals to multiple senses. In addition to several audio devices triggered by the passage of the ball, the ball crushes some herbs, including lavendar, as it coasts to a stop at the bottom.
