In 2002 the inhabitants of the original village were relocated in a new village with the same name. The reason? The dam lake of Alqueva would submerge the original village of Luz.
This makes this place special. Sociologists developed a special interest towards this community and to the process of collective relocation.
The museum is about the village and its people. Check the great website for further information.
