The Font at the rear of the nave in this church has a round bowl on a central stem with six detached marble shafts. Round the bowl are four circles of blind tracery, the interior of two of them have been defaced at some time, the other two are plain. Round the top and bottom of the bowl are two rows of decoration. The central pillar support is quite small and has six detatched grey marble pillars round it. A stone step is provided at the south side for the officiating minister. The cover is of timber surmounted by a cross and with brass lifting rings.
The font was given by Frances Alice Fenwick in memory of Hugh Salvin (1773 - 1852), and onetime rector of Alston.
