The sign was moved and resited in 2006 and is now on the corner leading to the Church
The story re the main picture is in 1793 the Rev Thomas Lloyd was concerned that his poorer parishioners were unable to afford the cost of a baptismal so on the Whitsunday of that year he offered his services free and 120 couples arrived for the occasion. The offer was never repeated. The figures eitherside are of Lady Maud and Eric the Dane who date from the 11th century.
Happisburgh is pronounced 'Haisborough'.
The plaque is so dark it is unreadable.
