CS:

• Hrb je jednou že šumavských hor. S výškou 1 074 nepatrí mezi nejvyšší hory tohoto pohorí. Presto patrí mezi 394 nejvyšších hor celého Ceska.

• Díky poloze na okraji geomorfologického celku Šumavských plání se severní svah Hrbu vyznacuje znacným prevýšením. Hora pri pohledu ze severu vypadá monumentálne.

• Jižní svahy hory mírne klesají do vysoko položeného horského údolí s radou rašeliništ. Velká cást rozlohy tohoto údolí leží na území Národního parku Šumava.

• Vrchol hory je pokryt horskou smrcinou. Proto z nejvyššího místa hory není v soucasnosti žádný výhled. Zato se Hrb vyznacuje klidem a zachovalou prírodou.

• Samotný vrchol hory je skalnatý, což není v této cásti Šumavy obvyklé. Na nejvyšší skále je umístena vyrezávaná socha jezevce a vrcholová kniha.

• Hrb je i dejištem povesti o úprku postreleného pašeráka, kterého pred pronásledovateli zachránil jezevec.

  POVEST O PAŠERÁKOVI NA HRBU Tím podloudníkem byl chudý sklár, který si chtel na obživu své rodiny privydelat pašováním tabáku z Bavorska. Pri návratu do Cech však narazil na patrolu pohranicních myslivcu. Prchal pred nimi celou noc. Na úteku však byl postrelen a jen z posledních sil dobehl na skalnatý vrcholek Hrbu. Tam klesl vycerpáním. Ve snu se mu zjevila Gabréta, dobrá víla a vládkyne zdejších hor. Zranenému pašerákovi se zdálo, že jej paní hor ukryla pred pronásledovateli. Když procitl, zjistil, že se ocitl v jezevcí nore. Jezevec byl tím, kdo ho schoval pred pronásledovateli. Zvíre ranenému pašerákovi ošetrovalo ránu a krmilo jej mlékem tak dlouho, než pašerák zesílil a mohl se vrátit domu. Všude pak vyprável, jak mu paní hor poslala na pomoc jezevce.

• Prímo na vrchol Hrbu vede cervená turistická znacka.

• Hrb is a summit in the Sumava Mountains. With its altitude of 1 074 meters Hrb is not the belong to highest mountains of this mountain range but still it is one of the 394 highest peaks of the Czech Republic.

• Thank to position on the edge of geomorphological unit called Šumava plains a north slope of Hrb is characterized by a considerable elevation. Therefore, the mountain seems monumental when is viewed from the north.

• Southern slopes of Hrb fall moderately into shalow mountain valley with numerous peat-bogs. A large parts of this valley lies in the Šumava National Park.

• In the present days the summit of Hrb is covered by mountain spruce grove. That is why there is currently no view from the summit. Some partial views are only from nearby glade. On the other hand the summit of this mountain is distinguished by tranquility and unspoilt nature.

• The higest point of the mountain is rocky. It is not usual in this part of Šumava mountain range. At the peak rock there is a wooden statue of badger and a box with summit register

• The summit of Hrb is also setting for tale about a pursued smuggler who was rescued from his persecutors by badger.
  

  THE LEGEND ABOUT SMUGLER ON HRB He was a poor glassblower who needed to earn some money for his family living. Therefore he decided to smuggle tobacco from Bavaria to Bohemia. Unfortunately on the way back he met a patrol of border hunstmans. All night long the smuggler fled over the mountain from border huntsmans. On the run he was shoted. When he reached a rocky mountain summit he finally dropped from exhaustion. Then he had a dream. In this dream Gabreta, fairy godmother and ruler of these mountains, appeared to him and hid him from pursuers. When he woke up, he found out that he is in the badger den. Badger was the one who hid him from persecutors! The animal had treated the wounded smuggler and fed him with milk until he became stronger and was able to return home. After that, the man everywhere had told that the fairy goodmother Gabreta sent the badger to help him.
