Fire Station, Guard House & Headquarters
One of the first base buildings, the fire Station and Guard House (#216) was used as the security headquarters for the base. Just south of the building is the small block building #215. This was the original storage building for the heavy bomber aircraft's top-secret Norden bombsights.
Building #211, just north of #216 served as headquarters for the base commander. Later, Col. Paul W. Tibbets Jr. used this building as the command center for the 509th Composite Group.
